How to use the Animal Index in Jump for Animals! (AnimalByte)

What this gets you: A clean Animal Index workflow — where the button is, when to claim, how animals enter the book, and which mutations are real for AnimalByte.

Where the Index lives

The Index sits on the right-side HUD next to Shop. Open it after new hatches. Reward tiers inside the panel are not published — claim what lights up; do not invent thresholds.

How animals get into the Index

1. Steal a guarded egg on the badge ladder (or named/event egg).
2. Return to Your Base and hatch (Ready! / Open).
3. Pen the animal so it earns cash (held pets do not pay).
4. Re-open Index — new species should fill in; claim rewards.

Obtain path = hatch stolen eggs. Not world-pickup. Not Lucky Blocks. Not rebirth resets from the twin game.

Mutations that belong here

All three are named in the official AnimalByte loop. Odds and full rosters are TBA — keep them labeled separate from Gold/Aurora.

Verified seed species (early Index)

Chicken, Bunny, Coral Goby, Pufferfish, Goat, Owl, Horse, Cat, Boxfish, Sailfish, Zebra, Bear, Red Dragon, Cobra — income snapshots live in animals-patches.json. Treat figures as footage/account snapshots, not hard base rates.

Session checklist (Index)

1. Confirm you are on AnimalByte place 126870639873289 (steal/hatch HUD: SHOP + INDEX on the right, PETS + EGGS on the left).
2. After each hatch, Pen the animal — held pets do not pay; offline cash still needs a Pen slot.
3. Open Index, claim anything lit, then either train Jump Power or resume the egg route.
4. Bank five identical commons for the Gold machine near the Coils shop when cash allows; during Purple Aurora, hatch aura eggs first for the ~2× roll (Gold+Aurora possible).
5. Leave rare sizes, Mythic eggs, and secret animals unlabeled as “tier” until odds exist — Index still tracks ordinary hatches separately.

FAQ — Index and mutations

Where is Index? Right-side HUD next to Shop. Notification badges often appear after steal/hatch.

How do entries fill? Hatch stolen eggs at Your Base (Ready! / Open), Pen the animal, reopen Index. Obtain path is hatch-only — not world-pickup, not Lucky Blocks.

Gold? Mutation Machine by the Coils shop: insert 5 identical pets → wait → claim 1 Gold (~4×).

Purple Aurora? Event eggs with purple aura (~2×). Gold+Aurora rolls are possible. Do not list Diamond, Ruby, or Emerald here.

“55 animals / 9 rarities”? That pitch belongs to the GiovaDev twin. Publish verified AnimalByte rows only; leave unknown species TBA.

Troubleshooting — claim and income

If Index does not update, confirm the hatch finished at Your Base and the animal sits in the Pen. Offline cash shows as $/hour on the plot HUD — empty Pens earn nothing. Index reward tiers remain unpublished; claim lit rewards and move on.

Separate chase tracks

Rare sizes, Mythic eggs, and secret animals are officially named. Keep them out of a single fake rarity table. Fill Index from the Meadow→Celestial steal loop first, then chase live banners.
